This 20cm handmade drum lampshade is the snowy village in its winter coat.
It’s a similar snowy village print to its bright red sister, but in soft scandi grey. Falling snow drifts across it, and the little houses in raspberry red and mustard yellow stand out like lit windows on a winter afternoon. There are snowy fir trees, bare branches, a snowman in a rather jaunty red hat, and a few sledgers and dogs making the most of the hills.
It’s end of line fabric rather than vintage, but I chose it for its distinctly 80s scandi feel. Think retro children’s book illustration and the Christmas decorations that live in a biscuit tin. It’s still festive, just calmer, so it works for anyone who likes Christmas but not a whole room of red and green.
When the lamp is lit, the raspberry and mustard houses glow against the grey and the village seems to come alive. It’s small enough for a bedside table, hallway console or shelf, and it would make a lovely gift for someone who has everything.
