Looking for something seriously less ordinary?
I welcome commissions and trade enquiries from interior designers, independent shops, restaurants, hotels, galleries, stylists and other spaces looking for lampshades with a bit more personality.
Seriously Shady is a small handmade business, not a volume manufacturer. That means I’m best suited to individual commissions, statement shades, small runs and limited projects where the details matter and nobody is asking for 800 identical shades by Thursday.
What I can help with
Perhaps you need one large shade to give a reception area a proper focal point. Maybe you’re sourcing a small group of shades for a restaurant, styling a shoot, creating a window display or looking for something distinctive for a client’s home.
I work with vintage, reclaimed, designer-remnant and other unusual fabrics, so some designs are genuinely limited by how much material exists. Client-supplied fabric can also be considered where it is suitable for lampshade making. If you already have a fabric in mind, send the details and I’ll let you know whether it should work.
Sizes, shapes, fittings and quantities can all be discussed. Larger orders and tighter deadlines aren’t automatically impossible, but they do need an honest conversation before anyone starts making grand promises.
How projects work
Every enquiry is considered individually. Once I understand what you need, I’ll confirm what is practical and provide a quote based on the size, materials, quantity and work involved. Because everything is made by hand, there isn’t a standard wholesale price list or fixed minimum order.
For the most useful first conversation, please include:
- the number of shades you’re considering;
- approximate sizes and intended use;
- your preferred timing;
- the project location;
- any fabric, colour or general style ideas;
- photographs, drawings or measurements if you have them.
Have a project in mind?
Email hello@seriouslyshady.com and tell me what you’re working on. It doesn’t need to be a perfectly formed brief. A sensible outline, a few measurements and some useful pictures are an excellent place to start.
If it sounds like a good fit, we’ll work out the practical bits together. If it doesn’t, I’ll tell you plainly rather than waste your time.
