Meet Frilli Vanilli, a one-of-a-kind, hand-stitched white broderie anglaise pendant lampshade. 50cm of glorious frills, flowers and handmade loveliness. The frilliest thing we've made yet.

This one started with a piece of beautiful white fabric that was gifted to me. I had no provenance story to tell you about it, but I did have an idea of what it could become.

Several very long hours of gathering, stitching and generally wondering why I'd made life so difficult for myself later, Frilli Vanilli was born.

The fabric is gathered all the way around the shade to create its soft, ruffled shape, with the delicate embroidered flowers catching the light beautifully. It's romantic without being twee, pretty without being boring, and just a little bit extra.

Frilli Vanilli is particularly lovely when it's lit. The light filters through the cotton and catches the embroidered detail, while the gathered fabric creates all those lovely shadows and little variations around the edge.

And yes, the name is a nod to Milli Vanilli. You can't unhear it now.
