This handmade butter-yellow balloon ceiling lampshade brings a little sunshine overhead, finished with vintage floral lace and satin binding. Romantic without being precious, it’s made for cottagecore bedrooms, cosy corners and homes where a little floral fuss is positively encouraged.

The outer fabric started life as a pair of curtains. I’ve hand-stitched it onto a reclaimed lampshade frame, added a new cotton lawn lining and finished the curved panels with satin binding. Vintage lace flowers around the lower edge provide the finishing flourish. A second act, with considerably better accessories.

Switched off, it’s soft butter yellow with pretty details worth a closer look. Switched on, the fabric takes on a rich golden glow. The photographs show both, because this shade has a daytime personality and an evening one.

There’s just one of this particular shade. I do have a couple more similarly sized frames, so if you love the shape but have another fabric in mind, get in touch about a bespoke version.
