Handmade 30cm drum lampshade using designer & vintage fabrics. And this shade is quietly sensible on the outside, party on the inside!

A handmade double-sided drum lampshade featuring soft blue linen on the outside and a cheerful vintage red, white and blue gingham lining hidden inside, this shade is proof that sometimes the best surprises are the ones you don't see coming.

At first glance, this shade is beautifully understated. The soft blue linen creates a calm, timeless look that works effortlessly in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and reading corners. But look inside and it's a completely different story...

Lining the interior is a wonderfully cheerful red, white and blue gingham cotton that my mother would confidently describe as "tablecloth fabric" and honestly, she's not entirely wrong. The result is a shade with a little secret: classic and elegant on the outside, joyful and full of personality on the inside.

When illuminated, the gingham lining gently shines through, creating a warm glow and an unexpected pop of pattern that brings the whole shade to life.

This design works beautifully as a table lamp, adding a touch of colour and character without dominating a room. It would also make a wonderful ceiling shade, particularly in a child's bedroom, playroom or anywhere that could benefit from a little extra cheer.

The outer linen is currently shown in soft blue, but alternative outer fabrics may be available, including white or red. If you'd like something slightly different, please get in touch before ordering.
